As the MHT scalp pigmentation technique has grown in popularity, the treatment is being discussed more and more often in hair loss forums, blogs, on news sites and of course, offline. Whilst we’re obviously pleased that our technique is becoming prominently exposed to more potential customers, there is sometimes a level of confusion about exactly what the treatment is, what it can offer hair loss sufferers and how easy a solution it is to live with following treatment.

What follows is a series of common myths about the MHT treatment, and of course the facts. Myth – “It’s just like a regular tattoo”

Absolutely not. The needles and pigments used, and the technique applied are entirely different.

Myth – “The pigment will turn green after a period of time, as regular tattoos do”

The pigments we use are different, and will never turn green.

Myth – “People will notice that it is not real hair on my head”

All of our past customers agree that the only way someone would know they’d had treatment would be if they’d chosen to tell them. Some of our customers don’t even tell their family or partners.

Myth – “The process requires several treatments to complete”

Strictly speaking this isn’t a myth. The required number of treatments depends on the individual, their hair colour and their preferences. Often we apply a lighter treatment to start with, and customers can choose to go darker if they wish.

1-3 treatments is average, with many customers requiring just 1-2. One of our competitors claims to be able to complete any treatment in one session, something we certainly wouldn’t recommend under normal circumstances.

Myth – “The treatment will be expensive”
