Treatment Removal
As more clients are now choosing scalp pigmentation as a hair loss solution, others have attempted to emulate our process. As a result, it has become necessary to provide remedial solutions to reverse the work of inexperienced, unqualified individuals
As scalp pigmentation has become more popular, others have attempted to emulate our process. As a result, it has unfortunately become necessary to provide remedial solutions to reverse the work of inexperienced, unqualified individuals.
MHT® is a highly specialised technique that has taken many years of intensive training, alongside some of the world’s foremost experts, to perfect. The use of scalp pigmentation techniques as a solution for hair loss, should not be practiced by regular tattoo artists, permanent make-up practitioners or clinics with insufficient knowledge or experience, under any circumstances.
The image shown is of Raphael, a client who came to us, desperate for our help following a rogue treatment. Raphael is, unfortunately, a classic example of why only suitably qualified, experienced practitioners should offer scalp pigmentation treatments for hair loss. For Raphaels story, click here.
We offer a reversal service, not only to provide our own clients with peace of mind, but also to correct the damage caused by rogue practitioners. The frequency of such requests is increasing at an alarming rate, therefore we urge all clients considering treatment, to insist on verifiable case studies, testimonials and recommendations BEFORE committing to any treatment.
MHT removal:
We originally launched a tattoo removal service in response to the growing number of clients asking for our help, following scalp pigmentation treatments performed by inexperienced practitioners, permanent makeup artists and general tattoo artists.
We also felt we should offer all clients receiving genuine MHT treatments, the option to remove the pigments should they change their mind.
Our first removal service was performed on Nedworthy, one of our forum members. The original removal process involved the introduction of a solution into the dermal layer of the skin, designed to break down the pigment and remove it from the scalp.
As part of our commitment to continually improve the services we offer, specialist laser therapy techniques will now be used to remove MHT treatments. With the correct application, this method will cause no scarring and very little discomfort. Jonathan Tang, Managing Director of our Hong Kong clinic, has volunteered to undergo testing procedures to demonstrate the effectiveness of this technique. We have darkened his frontal hairline to use as a test area, and the process of removal has already begun.
Laser sessions must be conducted at least 6 weeks apart, therefore we are currently unable to report our final findings, however we are pleased to confirm that the removal process is performing exactly as expected so far.
It is important to note that MHT pigments react entirely differently to laser therapy, in comparison to regular tattoo inks. Tattoo ink is also applied much deeper into the skin, and is therefore more difficult, and more sessions are required to remove the tattoo ink. MHT pigments react more favourably, making the removal process much more straightforward.
Please also note that it is extremely rare for a client of HIS Hair Clinics to request the removal of their treatment, in fact we have treated hundreds of clients, and to date, have only received two such request. However, we feel, as do many of our forum members, that the process involved should be properly explained, to provide clients considering an MHT treatment with the information they require to make a thoroughly informed decision.
We anticipate the majority of removal procedures will require no more than two to three laser sessions. In the coming weeks we will publish a full case study, including photographs before and after Jonathans MHT removal.
