What is Advecia?
Advecia is a nutritional supplement, marketed for the prevention of hair loss. Whilst there are countless pills, both herbal and non-herbal, that claim to prevent hair loss, Advecia was of particular interest to HIS Hair Clinics due to the inclusion of the saw palmetto hair loss ingredient, a berry that offers well documented benefits for hair loss sufferers.
Both diet and nutritional supplementation can provide a positive influence on hair growth and hair health, whilst deficiencies of specific nutrients can actually promote a loss of hair.
There is no doubt that an adequate intake of nutrients, whether or not this is supported by a supplement program, is advantageous for hair health. However, Advecia’s synergistic blend takes nutritional application one step further, by including specific nutrients that are not easily obtained from dietary sources alone.
Here are a few of the ingredients in Advecia that help slow hair loss:
Saw palmetto berries
Functions as a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, making it useful in male pattern hair loss.
In a double-blind, placebo controlled study, 60% of men treated with a liposterolic extract of saw palmetto and beta-sitosterol were rated as improved on the final visit.
Green tea extract
Extracts of green tea contain polyphenols which influence hair loss.
A specific component EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) is a potent inhibitor of 5-alpha reductase.
In animal studies of spontaneous hair loss, green tea extract has demonstrated the ability to produce significant hair regrowth when compared to control.
Grape seed extract
Components found in grape seed extract may be useful in treating hair loss.
Toxicology studies in animals show that grape seed extract is a safe product, not affecting blood cells or producing adverse effects (6).
Does Advecia work?
It would appear so, although the magnitude of the potential benefits will vary from person to person. We have spoken with several clients who have used Advecia, and most have reported a mild slowing of their hair loss, feedback that is really encouraging. Advecia may also appeal to those who are planning to try Propecia or Procerin, but are concerned about the potential (although very rare) side effects. For those who have suffered from side effects, Advecia may provide an ideal solution.

The effects of advecia vary from person to person. For me it helps me lose a few pounds. I have observed that when I take advecia my waist line decreases; not much but very promising. I think it is because of the green tea and grape seed extract. So, the benefit is two-fold for me; significant hair-growth and reduction in my extra “baggage.”
