Balding is something that is difficult to prepare for. People do not really expect that they will have to undergo hair loss, certainly not whilst they’re in their 20’s or 30’s. The truth of the matter is that a majority of the population will undergo a certain type of alopecia before they even reach their fifties. This can manifest itself in different ways. It is androgenic alopecia however that is the most common out of all these instances.

Male or female pattern baldness constitutes about ninety percent of the reported cases of hair loss. It is also one among of the most researched, resulting in various remedies developed to treat it. The use of different products and services has been successful in addressing this condition in varying degrees of effectiveness. Though occasional in some instances, they can also cause side effects that any potential user should carefully take into consideration.

Scalp micropigmentation fortunately does not cause any. Prospective clients just have to be wary about unscrupulous establishments that render inferior treatments. This cannot however be classified as an adverse reaction to the procedure. It can be regarded more as a problem in the industry instead of an occurrence that happens despite of the quality of work. To be clear, a well-made scalp micropigmentation treatment does not result in any side effects. What it does cause on a consistent basis is an illusion of hair that any patient may rely on to camouflage their alopecia.

It is important to always consult a qualified physician before undergoing treatment for any balding condition. Immediately using a particular remedy without determining the type of hair loss a person is going through might result in a pointless exercise. Worse, it might even cause other symptoms due to a mistaken application of the remedy.

The use of medication is perhaps one of the best examples to illustrate the occurrence of adverse reactions. There are only two types that are approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The first is minoxidil, an externally administered medication that causes hair to grow longer and thicker. This drug was first used to lower blood pressure and was accidentally discovered to encourage hair growth with continued application. Users must be careful not to utilise it over areas they do not intend to grow. As long as the hair follicles are active in a given location, minoxidil can be counted on to increase its density. It can however also cause unwanted itchiness and chest pains. Use should be discontinued immediately once these symptoms arise.

Finasteride is another type of medication that can cause side effects. It was developed mainly for androgenic alopecia and acts as a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor. This is an enzyme that binds with testosterone to form dihydrotestosterone and in turn, fuses with the androgen receptors of the hair follicles. The union causes a blockage of nutrients going into the hair follicles resulting in the progressive loss of hair. Finasteride use prevents dihydrotestosterone from forming. It bars the ability of the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme to combine with testosterone. While its steady use can cause hair to grow, it can also result in side effects usually affecting the male reproductive system. Dihydrotestosterone is naturally required to develop male characteristics. The lack of it because of finasteride use might cause impotency or a low sperm count as an adverse reaction.

Hair transplant surgery is an additional example of a highly effective hair loss treatment that can result in side effects. Perhaps the most obvious is scarring. This procedure does not create new hair follicles. It only repositions healthy ones in areas where balding is most prevalent. Taking it out from its original location requires an invasive procedure that can cause scars to develop. Infections can also result if these wounds are not properly cared for.

In summary, scalp micropigmentation is the best treatment to use for any type of hair loss. It is proven to be safe, fast and effective. There are no known side effects, only good results.
