Hair loss treatment options are well documented and depending on your preference, finasteride, minoxidil, hair restoration surgery and scalp micropigmentation are all feasible solutions. But what about the natural approach?

The loss of hair is a part of everyday life and how much you lose will depend on your lifestyle, your health and your genes. The longer your hair the more will be found in your brush or comb when you have finished brushing and this is something that is to be expected. On average you will lose around 50 – 100 strands of hair each day. Hair does die naturally but new hairs are continually being produced but there are circumstances that can stop this process from happening and this is when you will notice a thinning of hair and eventually a total loss. If you are noticing a thinning of your hair then there are several natural ways of improving its condition before you go for a medical solution such as a hair transplant. How you brush your hair is important, if you are using a brush that is not suitable for your hair length and thickness it could cause damage to your hair and cause it to fall out easier. For someone with an illness taking medication can cause thinning of the hair or even hair loss but once the medication has finished and with a good balanced diet your hair will begin to grow back and strengthen. It is important to have a good diet to keep your hair healthy and shining just as it is to be generally healthy. It has been reported that some lose hair due to stress or shock and it certainly seems to be the case with some people. However, it may be a time when you general health is not good as you are not eating a good diet and this will affect the condition of your scalp and therefore your hair. There are herbal hair treatments available over the counter that can help with the condition of your hair but it is important that if the loss is continuous you seek medical advice in case there is an underlying cause. The sun can dry your hair and cause it to become brittle and break. If you are in the sun a lot it is worth using an oil massage and wrap your hair in a towel with the oil for at least 30 minutes. For many people hair can be the last thing to be looked after and this may be due to cost. Hair should be washed regularly with a good shampoo and then condition to help stop the ends from splitting. You must ensure that hair products such as sprays, gels and creams are thoroughly washed out and not applied on previous applications. Hats, hair bands and clips can cause hair lose as it can rip strands and in the case of hats can stop oxygen getting to your scalp thus causing your hair follicles to become weak and hair to fall out. If you have long hair and you find it is thinning or bald patches are appearing it might be worth looking at a shorter style of hair which is not as heavy and may give your scalp time to recover. If you use hairbands or hats it is worth having at least a couple of days a week when you leave your hair loose and give time for your scalp to breath. For women thinning hair and hair loss through age can become embarrassing so it is important that good grooming is part of everyday care. Shortening your hair style may be of benefit as fine hair can look thicker when cut to the right length and style. For men it is a lot easier to start losing hair at a later age and it be accepted. In fact it is often thought that men can look more mature and it does not have the same stigma as a woman with hair loss. As we become older our bodies naturally slow down and it is important to ensure your diet is adequate in order to keep your body and hair in good condition. There are many remedies that have been recommended over the years that make use of natural products. If your hair is very dry and brittle causing it to fall out when brushing try warming olive oil and rub into the ends of your hair, then wrap in a towel for about 30 minutes before washing out. Keeping your hair follicles healthy is important and for this purpose tea tree oil is a good product to use. Gently massage into your scalp and leave for a short time before washing with a good shampoo. Coconut oil is another natural remedy that can be good for your hair and worth trying before going down the line of hair transplants which can be expensive and not always guaranteed to work.
