What we eat is one of the most important factors in maintaining our general health and by extension this also applies to our hair. A balanced diet that’s rich in minerals and vitamins is always going to advisable and this is where beetroots come in.
Beetroot improves sexual performance
Beetroots are generally recognised as one of the best Superfoods. The vegetable is a fantastic source of iron, potassium, vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants. In many countries the humble beetroot was regarded as a medicine and has had various properties ascribed to it from being an anti-inflammatory to lowering blood pressure and even improving sexual performance.

Whilst it’s true that potassium is important for follicles to produce hair it’s a big step to suggest that ingesting it will suddenly result in new hair growth. The truth is that beetroots are not a proven treatment for hair loss. Eaten as part of a balanced diet they will help to maintain overall health and wellbeing but they won’t prevent hair loss.
There are treatments for male pattern baldness, such as propecia and minoxidil which have been proven to stop shedding and promote new hair growth. These work by actively reducing the effects of DHT which actually attacks the hair growing on top of the head.
There are of course other treatments (not just orally taken medication) such as finasteride (applied topically), hair transplants, laser therapy and scalp micropigmentation.
